Splash Lights was founded in 2007 as a private family-based business with interests in both the UK and US swimming pool industries.
Philosophy:
From the onset, the company made the decision to try and successfully manufacture the product within the USA. Despite ever-present pricing pressures, the company continues to believe that great quality product can be produced at a competitive price from within the shores of the USA. That, coupled with the belief in a strong relationship between the company, its team workers and its customers provides a strong recipe for success.
dekko:
The initial product - dekko - took over 5 years to develop by one of the partners who has over 35 years of experience designing, building and renovating swimming pools from all around the world.
His logic for the simple yet ingenious design was that there must be an easier way to change a bulb than pulling the unit through the pool water itself. After successfully applying for numerous world-wide patents and a full UL listing, dekko finally became ready for launch late 2009.
The initial model comes in a standard 90 watt halogen configuration; however a patented white LED will be available during the 1st quarter of 2010 with a fully featured colored option available soon after.
A further ingenious aspect of the design is that as well as taking less than 3 minutes to change a bulb, the light can be upgraded to LED in less than 5 minutes – all from the safety and convenience of the pool deck. A truly remarkable feat when compared to current under-water lighting designs.
