Replacing a failed bulb in existing pool lights is never easy, or free from other problems.
All types of bulbs (including LED) fail over time and will need to be replaced. The power cables and seals, which are continuously exposed to the chlorinated water should remain undisturbed.
The standard method of replacing a failed bulb is to remove the light unit from beneath the water and service it on the pool deck. Doing this means disturbing the seals that protect the unit from the water. The light unit and cables are then pulled through the water onto the pool deck, ready for servicing.
This action can result in a future leak, as the seals are disturbed. It can also disperse contaminants, that have collected behind the light unit over the years, into the pool itself.
So even when the process of replacing the light source is complete, these other problems can be created.
The dekko lighting system has been developed specifically to eliminate these problems. |
